Helvetica, anyone?
Back in the early 2000s when I got into design, Helvetica was the holy grail of typography. Clean, modern, every designer was in love with it.
Then Gotham arrived on the scene and suddenly every website and brand wanted that bold look.
The 2010s were all about open fonts. First Open Sans took over, then Google fonts like Roboto became the new default.
Now in the 2020s, we have Inter, Geist, etc. ruling the web.
Funny how no one talks about Helvetica anymore. I wonder if the new crop of UI designers even know its name. 🙂
